Location was ok, about 15mins walk into the town. Plenty of free parking at the hotel.
The room decor was very, very outdated. Large stains on the bedroom walls and old furniture gave the room a very lived in feel. Room was fairly clean but very noisy at night with thin walls and doors. Bar area was again ok but needed a revamp and felt a little dirty especially around the area of the bar itself. To justify the price of the hotel stay it really needs extensive refurbishment. Overall a fairly disappointing experience.
We attended a wedding at the hotel and it was most enjoyable.
Friendly staff, lovely food, very child friendly.
The staff were very helpful and pleasant
The location of the hotel is not great. The decor is very outdated. We had to be moved from our first room due to incessant noise, and the second room smelled of smoke and the shower did not work. This does not equal value for money - this hotel is very overpriced.
The leisure club was the most enjoyable part of our stay - oh and the lobby is lovely
Sorry to say but the hotel looks nicer from the inside - the room we were provided with, while clean, was shabby - e.g. tiles cracked in the bathroom, seals around taps old. The view of the roof was only made bearable by the fact that it had snow on it. The bar lacked atmosphere
Handy for Monaghan Town and the pubs/nightlife there. Nice bar meal although a bit expensive. Good choice of beers, wines & spirits.
Bar lacked atmosphere until a group of us got a good old sing song started. Rooms a bit tired and need refurbishment. Ancient TV'S.
The bathroom had a jacuzzi with a shower head that you had to hand hold. It would have been better if the shower head could have been attached to the wall at the height of a normal shower head. There was no shower curtain. So, it was difficult to take a shower as we did not want to soak in the tub.
very noisy throughout the night with people constantly trying to open your door and shouting in the corridors. very over priced for what you get. some budget hotels are better.
Ease of check in/out. Convenience as we were there for a wedding.
At the wedding we were served our main course when the top table and others were already served. Before I even had the first serving of vegetables I was offered second helping of turkey! We were all very cold as we were placed between 2 sets of open double doors.
Good facilities with the pool, sauna, steam room and outdoor hot tub. Nice quiet hotel Food and staff very good bathroom in room very nice good value for money
Restaurant could do with a refurb to modernise it.
We thought the hotel was a bit dated & some areas in need of refurbishment. We attended a wedding and were not happy with the function room.
It is convenient for us as we live in Donegal though are originally from Monaghan. I found the staff to be helpful and friendly. The tv in the bedroom could be updated as it had a mind of its own. Generally the place could do with an upgrade. The place and room seemed clean and up to standard.
Access through the front door is difficult if you don't know which door to use.
great staff and restful great room.
Good gym foir a hotel, friendly staff, nice food.
Some of the decor could use a touch up - at least in the room that I stayed in.
The breakfast was lovely and it even went on past the time of 10:30am which was much appreciated. The bed was comfortable.
The room was freezing cold! I tried turning on a radiator but doubt it worked. The shower head had a leak that soaked the floor before I realised what was wrong. The decor in the room was really old fashioned and cold, certainly not what I was expecting or looking forward to in the 'Four Seasons'. The t.v. was v.small and hard to see. I couldn't find any signs or maps around to point to the Pool or Leisure area.
It is the ideal hotel for a wedding. Plenty of parking spaces, good leisure facilities and plenty of space to circulate before and after the wedding. The staff were very efficient during the wedding dinner looking after guests needs at all times. Everyone came away agreeing that it was the perfect wedding venue.
